Key exterior component engineering development for the BYD Tang annual facelift

We were responsible for the BYD Tang annual-facelift exterior key-component engineering development, covering front/rear bumper bodies and attachments, under-engine shield and mudguards. Under the annual minor-facelift cadence, through precise surface replication and process optimization, the project achieved exterior refresh with controlled cost.

1. Full coverage of key exterior parts: Coordinating design boundaries for front/rear bumper bodies, attachment brackets, under-engine shield and mudguards, we established a unified matching datum to ensure vehicle exterior coherence.
2. Precise surface replication: Based on released styling data, through A-surface refinement we restored new styling features and performed process verification on splits and drafts to ensure production feasibility.
3. NVH protection-part design: For the under-engine shield and mudguards, we optimized clips and sealing structures to reduce stone-impact noise and high-speed wind noise, improving cabin quietness.
4. Cost & cycle balance: Reusing many original hardpoints and inner structures, only exposed surfaces were changed, achieving low-cost refresh within the compact annual-facelift cycle.
